Sadie and Scott
Sadie and Scott is the podcast where two best friends dive headfirst into life’s most awkward, hilarious, and completely unnecessary conversations. From weird internet trends and questionable fashion choices to expensive hobbies we abandoned after one week, Sadie and Scott keep things honest, ridiculous, and very relatable.
Sometimes we bring in guests. Sometimes we drag those guests directly into the chaos. Either way, the goal is simple: no politics, no pressure, and no pretending we have it all together.
Just big laughs, real conversation, and the kind of “did they just say that?” moments usually reserved for the group chat.

This week on Sadie and Scott, we’re joined by Toronto based lifestyle creator Renee LeBlanc for a funny and honest look at life online, family content, brand deals, mom hacks, and what really happens behind the perfectly framed post.We talk about how Renee became a creator, what people misunderstand about influencer life, how she decides what to share, and why some of the most ordinary parts of life can become the content people connect with most. Scott and Sadie also try to figure out whether they could ever survive as influencers, what their personal “brand” would be, and whether a Sunday reset is real self-care or just moving clutter into prettier baskets.
It’s mom life, online earning, brand deals, real life, and a lot of questions about baskets.

Don't ever see not anyone.
SPEAKER_09No noise. No noise drinking.
SPEAKER_03I heard your lips open though.
SPEAKER_09Oh god. Uh what was I gonna say?
SPEAKER_03I don't know.
SPEAKER_09I got new headphones? Because no more coffee grounds on my sweatshirt. That was really weird. I actually wrap I wrap them up, they're right here.
SPEAKER_02Oh excellent.
SPEAKER_09Do one of the boys want them or something?
SPEAKER_02No.
SPEAKER_09Pretty nasty to be honest.
SPEAKER_00You're you're one of your boys want your garbage? No, I think we're good.
SPEAKER_09What am I useless hand-y downs? And I then I had to I had an or you know why you had to come in the side of the house?
SPEAKER_03Why?
SPEAKER_09Because the front door lock broke.
SPEAKER_03How the fuck does that happen?
SPEAKER_09So we have a smart lock. Oh so I can tell her to lock it. S IRI to unlock it and lock it. And I can use my phone to unlock it or my Apple Watch.
SPEAKER_03We have that too, yeah.
SPEAKER_09And it started going haywire one day. So I reset it, took the batteries out, did all the stuff, uh, you know, deleted it from home, my home app, and then reinstalled it, blah, blah, blah. Then it went fucking even more wonky, and the deadbolt stayed and when I couldn't even turn the manual dial.
SPEAKER_01Oh.
SPEAKER_09So I ended up getting the lock itself off, like the keypad part. And I still couldn't get the deadbolt. Because you're supposed to be able to just take a screwdriver and basically pull it out. Nope. Now I have to take the door off the hinges.
SPEAKER_00Oh no.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, I called a locksmith and I said, How do I do this? How do I he's like, all we're gonna do is snap it off inside the hole and then reach in with a pair of pliers and pull the deadbolt out. No, it's like I don't know what the hell happened. I'm gonna blame Liam, probably.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, you should. Or the dogs or something.
SPEAKER_09Well, my dogs don't have opposable thumbs, so I don't think it was them. Usually when something breaks, we just blame Liam.
SPEAKER_00But yeah, that's the easiest thing to do. I get it.
SPEAKER_09All right, listen, today on today's episode, so far it's been so exciting.
SPEAKER_00Deadlocks and hats.
SPEAKER_09We're gonna talk, let's talk about influencers.
SPEAKER_00Yes, let's here's the deal.
SPEAKER_09After much cajoling and massive amount, yeah, you cajoling.
SPEAKER_03That's a word.
SPEAKER_09Yes, look it up.
SPEAKER_03Damn it.
SPEAKER_09After much cajoling and massive negotiations, I finally got your cousin Renee to commit.
SPEAKER_04Mass negotiations. Oh, you were so dramatic.
SPEAKER_09We've okay. So no, we've finally secured Renee for uh to join us on the show.
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_09Because I've always I I like I said in a previous episode, I've always wanted to talk to an influencer.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Like one that actually makes money, like a real living at it.
SPEAKER_09Makes a living. Like she pays taxes and gets free shit.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_09Because you see so many influencers on their self-created. Now, I don't have a problem with that.
SPEAKER_03No, either do I.
SPEAKER_09Like somebody somebody pushed a product once and the comments were like, Are you getting paid for this? No, then why bother? It's like, well, because maybe I will get paid one day.
SPEAKER_03Exactly.
SPEAKER_09Um, and you know, for someone who studied marketing in school, this is the newest way of the marketing mix, which is advertising and promoting your product, et cetera, et cetera. Price product place promotion.
SPEAKER_03Yep.
SPEAKER_09See, I still remember my I want to ask, what would you want to influence? Do you have a large range of products? Or would you like because you uh Marene, for example, and we'll find out when she joins us on the show in a few minutes.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_09She probably has a number of brands. Well, now she does. But she started with one.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_09We'll find out. She's gonna give us the whole how did you go from the regs to riches, oh you know, and her fame.
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_09But how did we, how do you get your first product? How do you so let's say you start with your first product?
SPEAKER_03Well, it's like it for me, I think where did how do you get that momentum, right? It's the momentum where I'm like, where does it start? You have to just start by making a single post. And this is kind of what I was learning talking to some of the other influencers, say when we were out to dinner on our free version cruise.
SPEAKER_09Oh, that's right. You weren't fucked off on me.
SPEAKER_03I know, and she took me like that. That's a pretty like she got a free cruise. It's pretty cool. Um, you know, and they were like, you should just do it. You should do it. You're funny, you should do it. I'm like, but it seemed so overwhelming to me because I'm like, where do you understand that? Where do you start? What do I do? And they're like, it can be as simple as taking what someone else posted. Like um, uh, I don't know, you get a hairyed mother and what?
SPEAKER_09Like a like a hairy mother. Why are we worried about how much hair she has?
SPEAKER_03It's not no, I meant like a frazzled.
SPEAKER_09No, hairyed. Hair read, yeah. It's my new headphones.
SPEAKER_03Oh, sure, it's got um can't be the fact that you're a hundred years old with bad hearing. What? You're a senior. What? Uh so I remember when it can you know those you know those posts where you see someone that is they're not physically talking to you, they just have you know something written in the post. Like, I don't know, I can't even think of anything at the time. But you can take someone else's post like that, take that exact, like uh upload the reason you do it as well. It's it's I'm like, what? So people are like you can also just copy what other people are doing. But if they if you do happen to be funnier in your movements or they like your face more, I like your face, you'd be a good influencer. Thanks. I just wouldn't know what I would do.
SPEAKER_09Do me a favor, don't tap your fingernails on shit. Like, you know, they they hold a box and they go, Yeah. Like, fuck off. No.
SPEAKER_05Okay.
SPEAKER_09It's ridiculous. And people who talk with all of their fingers bunched together, usually they're pissed off when they do it. Yeah, you're doing it right now. You're doing it. Like your thumb, your index finger, your ring finger, your baby finger, and your index, you know, they all never noticed anyone do that. Oh my god, it will now Oh great, thanks. Yeah, the Bader Meinhoff phenomenon will now kick in. What? The Bader Meinhof phenomenon.
SPEAKER_03Oh my god, you're such a narwhal. Honestly, Scott. Be in a hybrid fruit of organ.
SPEAKER_09All right. So what would you uh pick your first fit pick your first product? What would it be? Like, what do you love? What have you bought recently? Because you're gonna want to tag that brand in your I would do real. And would you do influence? Would you do just Instagram or do you think because Renee has a lot of followers on TikTok as well?
SPEAKER_03Yes, yeah. Well, it it's across all platforms, right? When you upload, there's a um like an app or a system that she was saying that she uses that she posts and it it takes all of those things and it posts it on all of those things. So it's like a one button, you know?
SPEAKER_09We do it for marketing.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_09So it'll go to for us, for example, for the company I work for, it would be it would go straight to Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
SPEAKER_03So that's what she was saying with her, because she taught me how to do the real. I'm like, how do I get it to go on all these different things? And she's like, oh, that's easy. You just do blah, blah, X, Y, and Z. I'm like, crazy.
SPEAKER_09How about you? I've got some ideas. If you you think about what products you would like to, because maybe they may be listening to the show right now.
SPEAKER_05Oh.
SPEAKER_09All right. When you get to be a rich influencer, you're still gonna remember me, right?
SPEAKER_02Of course.
SPEAKER_09And I get a cut. Can I be your agent? Sure. Yeah, okay. I get I get like Colonel Tom Parker rates, though. Like I want 50% of your No, no, no, no, no.
SPEAKER_04That's not how that rolls.
SPEAKER_09All right, so how about restaurant life? You promote restaurants, so you could be a restaurant influencer.
SPEAKER_03No, I don't know if that's my thing. I think mine would be furniture.
SPEAKER_09Okay, so that you know what? That's that's interesting.
SPEAKER_03So I like home decor. Like that's what I like. I like home decor. I like changing out my pillows. I like, I love ruggable, uh, you know, cozy. Like there's just, you know, West Elm. Come on, West Elm.
SPEAKER_09Hashtag, hashtag I don't have a carpet.
SPEAKER_03No, I think, you know, pottery barn. Like they're just it would be nice for um, and you know, Renee was saying that she knows someone who, I guess I'm I don't know the full story, but she does more of the home decor, and she just had pottery barn, which is a very expensive place to purchase anything, do her entire living room. And then she just posts about it. I mean, we're talking tens of thousands of dollars. She gets this beautiful home, and it's probably something that she's really interested in, is home decor. She gets paid for it, and then it's unbeliev it's crazy.
SPEAKER_09Okay, so what so do you think you would want to do stuff connected to furniture, meaning like maybe cleaning products? You're a bit neurotic when it comes to cleaning.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I guess.
SPEAKER_09You think you could so we're watching America's Culinary Competition or America's Culinary Cup. And Dawn, the the prize for these chefs was a million dollars for the winner.
SPEAKER_03Oh shit.
SPEAKER_09Yeah.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03That's a lot of money.
SPEAKER_09It's the biggest prize they've ever given away in a cooking competition.
SPEAKER_03Do they also, is it like a Chef Ramsey thing where they get, you know, a head chef somewhere at some crazy restaurant in like France?
SPEAKER_09No, they just get a million bucks. Like some of them are already Michelin-starred chefs and have been nominated or won a James Beard Award. Like they are just there to cook food, have judges who are experts in Podma Lakshmi, who was the host of Top Chef, she started this show. And she's got two chefs who are constant judges, and then they'd have other judges come in.
SPEAKER_03Can I just pause? I love those shows, but I find the judging of it so pretentious. Oh, I know. I can't stand watching someone bite food and like stare, they don't want to stare at the chef either.
SPEAKER_09They're like staring up at the ceiling while they're eating. Like, who does that?
SPEAKER_03What are you doing with the food inside your mouth that you need? It just drives me bongers. It drives me bonkers. It just seems so pretentious.
SPEAKER_09So it's funny because they'll say something to the contestant, and this is all cooking shows. You know, you know what I would have loved to have seen? I would have loved to have seen some kale on the side. And and Joe always pipes up, it wasn't in the fucking recipe. That's why it's not on the fucking side. So don't just make up random. No, if they say, Yeah, I could have used a bit more salt.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_09You didn't hit the brief. The brief was the meal had to be purple and you came out red. So you lose, right? Get out. But it was funny because Henry and Kersty came over and Henry had made some truffles.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_09They were delish. The ganache was divine.
SPEAKER_03Oh, God, barf.
SPEAKER_09What? The ganache or me being pretentious? The ganache is divine. I'm being like an influencer.
SPEAKER_03No, and you just did that with your hands, dude.
SPEAKER_09I'm being an influencer.
SPEAKER_03What the hell?
SPEAKER_09Oh, you're doing it. Stop doing it. I did that on my purpose. Oh, I alright. So here's the thing. So I take a bite of the one that he made with it had desiccated coconut on the outside. It was just a little bit. What?
SPEAKER_00Desiccated coconut.
SPEAKER_09That's what it's called, Sidney.
SPEAKER_00The gnoche and the desiccated coconut.
SPEAKER_09The gnosh was Javon Muffin. Why do you have an underbite when you're pretentious people do when they have underbites? Muffin. Bev's not wearing any pigments.
SPEAKER_00Oh my God.
SPEAKER_09The gnache was just.
SPEAKER_00I really wish you would stop doing that.
SPEAKER_09Like Thirston Howell from Gilgen's Islands. Talking this Gilgan. Oh. Skipper's not wearing pants. Okay, so they were delish, right? And he just said, Hey, can I get some feedback on it? And I said, Henry, we can't give you feedback anymore because Joe and I watch way too many cooking competitions that I'm gonna start to sound like I'm judging you, and then you're gonna get voted out.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_09And then I just said, Well, there's I said to him, the gadash was divine, Henry, and I really enjoyed that desiccated coconut. What I would have liked to have seen on the side was maybe some kale.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, yeah, that's what you should have said.
SPEAKER_09Yes, truffles and kale, fucking idiot. All right, so what else do you want to influence? Because I can give you a couple that I would probably do. Okay, you should. That I think I might, these are only ones that I'm thinking of that I might excel at.
SPEAKER_00Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_09I'm not as much anymore, but I used to be a pretty damn good golfer.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_09I might influence like golf balls or come with me. You know, like how they always all the influencers are always like, come with me as I try out these three new golf balls. Like, would you, yeah, would you like to Oh my god, you guys.
SPEAKER_03Would you have a shtick?
SPEAKER_09Like, would you have a certain like I'd probably be called like the big fat golfer or something like that. And come with me as I look like a complete fucking whale swinging a golf club, but with my cheer card.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Or you could dress like a chicken.
SPEAKER_09No.
SPEAKER_03I'm not gonna be that of a listen and make like a big giant fake nest out of hay. Dress like a chicken. Lady the golf balls. Yeah. And then you get that's how it starts every single yeah, that's how it starts every time. You stand up and there's all these cool golf balls.
SPEAKER_09Oh my gosh, today we're trying the Vice Pro XL7. Yeah, okay. No, I think I could be a legitimate golf influencer, but what I would want it to do is to branch out for me to be the influencer rating golf courses. So I can play golf for free.
SPEAKER_03That would be nice. Why don't you just like get a little side job waking up early in the morning and taking care of the greens?
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_03You'll do that when you're older, I bet. My uncle does that.
SPEAKER_09No, I wouldn't be a greenskeeper, I'd be a marshal because marshals get to play golf for free. They work a six-hour shift.
SPEAKER_03He goes early, he goes early, plays golf, and he gets it for free. You just want to be called Marshall.
SPEAKER_09I just want to boss people around. Oh, you guys are going too slow. Hurry up. Stop taking selfies on the green. You're holding up people.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. I can see you doing that actually.
SPEAKER_09Uh, what else would I want to do? Maybe cars. I'd like to drive cars.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, but what would you do in those cars? Like what is your video?
SPEAKER_09What would I do in those cars? All right.
SPEAKER_03Don't stare at me directly when you do that voice, please.
SPEAKER_09Don't stare.
SPEAKER_00It's very uncomfortable.
SPEAKER_09I'm waiting for you to call me bro.
SPEAKER_00Listen, bro. Yeah, you're kind of freaking creepy.
SPEAKER_09I could do cookware. You know what I'm really into right now is stainless steel.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_09Stainless steel stuff. Stuck back in your chair.
SPEAKER_03So, oh yeah, right. So, what would you do with the pans, for instance?
SPEAKER_09Okay, so I follow a guy on TikTok. Shout out to the steel pan guy. He got me into steel pans.
SPEAKER_03Is this his name? The steel pan guy?
SPEAKER_09Yeah, he's this guy from Niagara Falls, and he's got these catchphrases though that I now use with Joe.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_09So I've showed her videos of the steel pan guy because stainless cooking on stainless steel, by the way, is the best thing you can do.
SPEAKER_03Yep.
SPEAKER_09And because we have an induction cooktop, when we moved, our pots and pans were not compatible with the cooktop, so we had to buy all new. I said, Oh, let's get stainless steel.
SPEAKER_03Yep.
SPEAKER_09Five ply, by the way, is what the steel pan guy says. But he says things like um isn't it clad? No, five ply, iron five ply steel clad uh clad, yes, it's cladded in steel, but it's five, usually five ply of stainless steel.
SPEAKER_03Again, wow, this is like this is riveting stuff. It's exhilarating as well.
SPEAKER_09Renee cannot wait for you to get here. Anyway, he says things like it's what big Teflon doesn't want you to know. Right? Because and then he says you got to preheat the pan on the low end, uh high end of medium low, which doesn't make any sense. Okay, high end of medium low is not high end of medium low.
SPEAKER_03That's not a thing. That's not that's not a thing.
SPEAKER_09Why don't you just tell us you put it on three?
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_09With induction I have to go up to six usually. If I but you know when you throw the water in it, if it beads and rolls around, it's cooked, it's ready to go, and he's like, This is what Big Teflon doesn't want you to know, or put the steak in and just let Mother Nature do its job and she'll unstick it. Because you just wait for it to you know do whatever. So I think I could do stainless steel stuff. Okay. I could do the voiceovers for it too.
SPEAKER_03I think you'd be good at it. You're very smart. I'm sure you could figure out some little shtick and start getting money.
SPEAKER_09What was that you said?
SPEAKER_03Shtick.
SPEAKER_09No, before that.
SPEAKER_03I'm sure.
SPEAKER_09No, no. Before that.
SPEAKER_03Um very oh, I don't know. Fuck oh, cis menopause is kicking my ass. I don't remember a lot of things. Sorry, Scott.
SPEAKER_09I think it was a novel. I think that you would do great. You love furniture. I think that you could be a a pentagenarian clothing influencer.
SPEAKER_03I you've seen what I show up here wearing.
SPEAKER_09I know, but I've also seen you like to the nines. And it's oh right.
SPEAKER_03Again, you're looking at me straight in the eye.
SPEAKER_09Stare at the wall, Scott. Stare at the wall.
SPEAKER_00It's kind of freaking me.
SPEAKER_09I think you could do a pentagenarian cloth. Look at check out my fit.
SPEAKER_03You know what's funny is I'm I'm starting to really look at those because it I'm I'm following, I'm not following, but I guess I've clicked on a few women that are, you know, dress as cool as like your younger self or your daughter, still look effortless and chic as you know, picking up your kids from school. So I I am actually well, maybe I will do that.
SPEAKER_09I think you should. I am getting hit. I started following this TikToker uh only because she's well, first of all, she's Canadian and she made me laugh. She's like, let's look at the fit. And then she so they're up front, they're close to the camera. So then they stand back so you can see their entire fit. And she's like, Look, never buying these jeans again. Look at the size of my camel toe. I can't fucking believe this. And I was like, I'm far with it.
SPEAKER_03She's funny, yeah.
SPEAKER_09And she's like stunning.
SPEAKER_03I think that if I wasn't um so in my head, uh like you could accomplish anything. Yeah, I know, right? Is that I would be good at making fun of my kids. But I don't know what brands would come to me then.
SPEAKER_09No, because that's negativity and it doesn't work in advertising unless you're being negative about self, not somebody else.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, uh, but but it's more of like mom life, you know, like uh pee around the toilet and just little little tiny these little tiny things that happen in your life with your children that make you crazy.
SPEAKER_09Right. So you find a cleaning company.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I guess it would be a cleaning brand.
SPEAKER_09And a cleaning brand that you get on board with because this is the best toilet cleaner I've ever seen. Get ready with me as I clean my toilet. Oh my god, you guys.
SPEAKER_03Why are you talking like that?
SPEAKER_09Because that's just what some influencers sound like. Okay. Get ready with me as I clean my toilet with blah blah blah brand.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_09Look at the pee just beat up and something like that. Oh I think we've pretty much um I don't think I have any other ones. Maybe I could be a microphone influencer and test different microphones on the podcast and maybe make some money for us.
SPEAKER_03That actually is a great idea. Or the little buttons that you don't know how to work.
SPEAKER_09Like these. Oh god. Hold on. Let me see. Scott. Come with me, you guys. Scott. What? Stop. Oh. Hold on. I got other. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_03See, I I mentioned it, and then you get so fixated. First of all, your fingers are way too big for those buttons.
SPEAKER_09These buttons are like two centimeters by two centimeters.
SPEAKER_01All day long.
SPEAKER_03Here we go. Stay on for the ride, people. We're gonna go through every fucking button.
SPEAKER_00No, just one more. All black. Oh dear lord. Studio Vulva too. Oh, here we go.
SPEAKER_05Studio Volva Vulva.
SPEAKER_09Alright, I'm not gonna touch any more buttons. Okay. I promise. And I won't do it to Renee, I promise. Oh God, your wink is for you.
SPEAKER_00Is that any wink?
SPEAKER_09No, I am embellishing it.
SPEAKER_00You looked at me directly in the eyes again. No, I didn't.
SPEAKER_09I was looking at my computer screen.
SPEAKER_00Well, you have a lazy eye then, because I'm like all right, let's get into Renee.
SPEAKER_09Pardon.
SPEAKER_00I don't think her husband would like that too much there, Scott.
SPEAKER_09Is he smaller than me? Then he better he will like it. Okay, and now all right. So let's let's take a quick break and then we're gonna welcome Renee to the episode. Fuck. Let me try that again. Jesus Christ. Okay. All right, let's let's take a quick break. And when we come back, we're gonna have a chat with your cousin Renee, the influencer. Fuck, I didn't like that either. Renee LeBlanc is up next.
SPEAKER_00LeBlanc!
SPEAKER_09Stay tuned, LeBlanc.
SPEAKER_03LeBlanc.
SPEAKER_09Joe hates it when I say LeBlanc.
SPEAKER_03Le Blanc.
SPEAKER_09Alright, let's take a quick break and then we're gonna welcome Renee to the show. How was that?
SPEAKER_04That was yeah, I think you should just keep the first one.
SPEAKER_09Let's get into Renee.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_09Are we ready to it's so funny? To make this a surprise for you? Like I wanted this to be a surprise. How am I supposed to make this a surprise when you and Renee are first going?
SPEAKER_02Yes. There's zero chance that could have been a surprise.
SPEAKER_09Well, and not to mention the fact that uh you don't like homework, so why would I bother even you don't have to?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, pretty much. We're gonna LeBlanc you.
SPEAKER_09Wow, is that an actual thing?
SPEAKER_04In our side of the family, 1000% is. Oh yes. You can just ask Renee.
SPEAKER_09Okay.
SPEAKER_04Well, um show up for a dinner and get LeBlanced. That's what happens. It looks like you've been LeBlanced.
SPEAKER_09Today we're joined by Renee LeBlanc, lifestyle creator, Amon, and influencer who has built a huge following by sharing real life content that people can actually connect with. Rene covered family life, mom hacks, grocery hunts, home organization recipes, beauty, skincare, and the shopping finds that make people say, Wait, I need that too. Welcome to Sadien's gotta Renee Leblanc. How are you, Renee?
SPEAKER_08Good. How are you guys?
SPEAKER_09We are well.
SPEAKER_03I'm excited. I'm excited. I always like our chats.
SPEAKER_09It would have been awesome to actually been able to maybe get you guys to actually record while you were on the boat.
SPEAKER_03Oh, that would have been fun. Oh no, actually.
SPEAKER_00I don't know if you would have been ready for that.
SPEAKER_09In our last episode, you you uh you said, Oh, I remember the fun part of it from our anniversary episode.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_09Well, you know what one I really liked when we were drunk. When we were drinking.
SPEAKER_03Oh yeah, no, we uh we had some funny nights. I think we laughed ourselves to sleep half the time, eh, Renee? Yeah, yeah. Like we sometimes we could not even there's something about going away with a family member where it's just like it's like a sibling. It's just you kind of grew up the same way, you know, our sensibilities are the same. You know, we have those inside jokes, the humor, you know, we can make fun of our parents and it's cool. And I hope they're not listening. Oh, they listen, unfortunately. Um, it was just really it was it was really fun. It feels really natural and not pushed, or the we can be silent or we can be laughing and crying at the same time. It just it was good. It was really fun.
SPEAKER_09It was excellent to see you dry humping a couch in front of a pool on one of her name's videos on her on her TikTok.
SPEAKER_04Oh, that was funny. That was after the coconut juice. You know what was in that coconut juice, disgusting coconut juice.
SPEAKER_09Water. Sorry. Well, we're gonna get to we're gonna get to more of the cruise.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_09Because that is something that I want to kind of understand how what I need to do to get free cruises.
SPEAKER_03Right? You and me both. Yes.
SPEAKER_09Okay, but let's go back, let's go back. Let's go way way back. Where's my harp sound? Hold on, Renee.
SPEAKER_04Oh, geez. I know. Sorry, Renee. This is this is the this is the painful part of the podcast.
SPEAKER_09Hold on, let's go way back.
SPEAKER_04Okay, all right, Scott.
SPEAKER_03I feel like I'm in like, let's make a deal.
SPEAKER_09That actually did sound a little bit let's make a deal. But we've gone back in time. Renee, let's let's go back to who's Renee and what made Renee become an influencer, like or how? Like, because this has always been my biggest question, and I've never met an you know, I I met someone who said they were an influencer, looked at their Instagram and went, you have four followers. Yeah, you're not a fucking Instagram. You're not no getting a free meal.
SPEAKER_03Renee's Renee's legit. And to be honest, I don't I don't even think I've sat down and had a like a conversation of how it started, why, what you know, I don't even know these things, so I'm actually curious to find them out.
SPEAKER_09Fantastic. Well, what a great way to do it on a podcast. Right.
SPEAKER_03Yes.
SPEAKER_09So Renee, let's start off at the beginning. You're you know, you you grew up, you did you go to school? Like, you know, are you a tech savvy person? Did you kind of fall into this? So I'm just gonna let you talk.
SPEAKER_08Facebook came out when I was in college, and so obviously everybody was really interested in Facebook. And then I moved to Whistler and I had my son. And when I lived in Whistler, I found a lot of the women that were having babies there were in their 40s and I was 23. So I didn't really have any other young moms to connect with that had similar likes and interests. And I had been following someone online that was content creating or it was blogging back then. It was less about social media and more about having a blog. Um, so I followed her blog. She was Vancouver-based, and I just really enjoyed her posts and she shared a lot of entertaining and home things that I was interested in, and she just had a baby. So it was just nice to, you know, follow it along with a mom that was around the same age as me. So I didn't feel alone in Whistler with a child. And it just kind of started from there. I started blogging uh for a few years and then Instagram started taking off, and then I just started posting on there. And I remember the first time I was offered a free mascara to write a whole blog post. I was so excited because I could not believe that a brand would send me anything to write about my thoughts.
SPEAKER_03Like a free mascara, how it starts from a free mascara to you know, a vacation to a vacation. It's just wild. I mean, listen, she's put a lot of work into it. We're talking about, you know, many years ago. Not she's not super old, but she's younger than me. Um, but she's not a pentageny. She's not. She's not as old as this girl, but she can't keep up either. You know what I mean, Renee? No, I definitely can't. But she's gone from a mascara to these. It's quite impressive, actually. I I have a million questions, and I'm I do, I'm I'm just I'm really proud of her.
SPEAKER_09Write them all down like I do. Aw, thank you.
SPEAKER_03No, but I am really I'm really proud of you, Renee. I it's it's pretty incredible what you've created for yourself. You know, you're you're doing it, girl. A lot of energy, yes.
SPEAKER_09Did you go to university for anything tech? Like I know that it doesn't take an IT degree to run an Instagram account, but you've got fantastic production value or production quality. Your voiceovers are amazing. Like I'd swear you'd had equipment like I do. I assume based on we're on a Zoom call right now, and I'm um you're you sound great, so I assume you've got a good microphone for your voiceovers. But w did you were you educated in in in technology, or did you take like, I don't know, art?
SPEAKER_08No, I took pro I think I took five college programs and I quit every single one of them. Um I did police foundations, marketing, aesthetics, fashion. Yeah, fashion, yeah, yeah, quite yeah, and I didn't finish any of them. So I don't think that school um was for me. I on I was a server forever. I didn't have any plan. I didn't know what I wanted to do. So it was one of those things that I I really did just kind of fall into it. But yeah, I don't have any um background with tech. It's just I just learned as I went.
SPEAKER_09That's fantastic because that is a huge part of I think of your brand, which is like I've gone through well, and you pop up on my FYP all the time on TikTok.
SPEAKER_03What the heck is FYP?
SPEAKER_09If you were on TikTok, you would know.
SPEAKER_03Oh, I'm not on TikTok. Oh no, no, no, actually, I am on TikTok, but Renee and I had a very long 18-minute layover. Uh wow, that was crazy. Um, so we sat and she taught me how to do reels, right? So I could do that now.
SPEAKER_05You can do a TikTok account.
SPEAKER_03I I started I started a TikTok account, but I kind of forgot until now. So I'm gonna work on that tonight.
SPEAKER_08Katie actually had a TikTok before I did, way before when it was musically. Yeah. And it switched to TikTok and we we made a horrible video that I'm so glad is no longer living on the page. Oh God, yeah. I remember that. We're not gonna relive that. Yeah, no.
SPEAKER_09Enough said. So you do learn, but your like your production quality, and I'll say it again, like is is is second to none as far as I'm concerned.
SPEAKER_08Guys, I can come on every week because this is great.
SPEAKER_03But Renee, how do you like? I mean, I've seen her, you know, I've seen her do her posts and you know, have been, you know, now involved in in one of her posts for uh for helping a coach. Yeah. No, it wasn't that. No, no, she did a very, very classy one, not the one that I did. Um, but you do it by yourself. Like, was there I remember there was a time where there you did have like a photographer helping you? Yes. Okay.
SPEAKER_08Yes, I I have had a photographer. I asked you. Why don't we have Kristen?
SPEAKER_03Oh, you do still use her.
SPEAKER_08Yes. Okay. So um over the last year, I've been doing my own. And then she actually just came last week. Um, and we're starting up again. But yeah, I do use her a lot of the time. She's fantastic. I absolutely love her. She's just she's been doing this with me for, I want to say, oh my gosh, like maybe 10 years now, which is crazy.
SPEAKER_03A long time. A lot, like even I remember yeah, I would say 10 years as well, because I remember you talking about her.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, yeah, she's fantastic.
SPEAKER_03But you usually can just do this on your own, correct?
SPEAKER_08To her quality, no. No. She's she's like she's a wedding photographer and she's very talented. And I feel like she just has an eye for certain things that I even don't, even though I am self-taught with doing videos and everything, obviously. She just uh she's trained in that, so she is amazing. And I ask her to help me out when she can, and everything else I do on my own. But I do like having um her production quality within my feed just because it makes it look a lot better and more appealing to brands. So yeah.
SPEAKER_09Okay, so speaking of brands, we we won't really mention too many brands, but but you went from getting a free mascara to essentially making a living at this job as an influencer. Like you don't have any other jobs for the record, as far as I know, right?
SPEAKER_04Well, there's that one thing she does. I'm kidding.
SPEAKER_09Films called Humping Couches. We should open humping couches.com.
SPEAKER_03No, it's like 50s softboard.
SPEAKER_09So let's let's kind of if you can just walk us through, let's progress through the timeline, which is a free mascara to making a living at it and you know, going on trips and being able to go to Disney or going to uh uh virgin cruises. So where does where does somebody because there might be somebody listening saying, I I think I could do this?
SPEAKER_08Honestly, anyone can, I really believe that. Um, anytime someone shows even the slightest bit of like of interest, I always encourage them to do it because I still can't believe it 16 years later. Um, but yeah, basically I was blogging for a while and then social media started exploding. Um, you know, Facebook was already a thing, and then Instagram became or sorry, became popular. And then obviously over the last few years, TikTok. And I just did it because I thought it was fun and entertaining. It wasn't really because I thought it was going to turn into a business ever. Um, but over the years, as brands started to realize this is actually a very lucrative lucrative business, the production costs are way cheaper to hire an influencer to share, you know, photos before they turned into videos and then videos now that TikTok and Instagram um mainly share video. Basically, they just started reaching out and it's way cheaper for them again to hire an influencer to produce the content, shoot the video, edit everything, and post it to their audience. And I heard somebody say this a long time ago, but if you fill a football stadium, there's around 50,000 patrons that are there to see their team. And if you have 50,000 followers online, and then you have the one person, the one influencer standing in the middle of the football field sharing all the things that they're excited about and that they're interested in, and all of these people chose to follow them. The brands are more likely to make more money than like pumping out a commercial on TV because you don't know who's consuming the ad versus with me or any other content creator that has a large following, those people chose to actively follow that person. They're like-minded. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, exactly. They're interested in the same things, and that's why they followed you to begin with. So if you're pumping out ads on your on your page, people are more likely to be interested and engaged in what you're sharing because you're sharing things that you know that they would actually like. So the ROI is probably a lot higher than what they would have on, you know, a TV commercial or an ad elsewhere, like a billboard, whatever.
SPEAKER_09Okay. So was this like almost like they slid into your DMs, as they would say?
SPEAKER_02That's a sexy way of putting it, Scott.
SPEAKER_08Honestly, I'm I'm trying to think of how it started. I mean, I worked with um Target when it was in Canada years and years and years ago. And they reached out, but I just started getting emails. Um, and I I honestly don't know how they how they found me. Um, there wasn't a lot of content creators or bloggers when I started because I've been doing this for 16, almost 17 years now. Um it's been yeah, because I started when I was pregnant with Austin. Yeah. Which is crazy. Yeah, I know.
SPEAKER_03I do kind of remember having vague conversations with you when we came to visit you in Whistler and maybe a little bit after. And I can't believe it's been that long. Oh my dear. I know. Time flies.
SPEAKER_08Yeah. Yeah. So it just it just kind of progressed. And I think as brands realize that it's really lucrative to like get in front of, you know, a different audience and hire a content creator versus like just doing you know, classic media kind of thing, it's just been, I don't know, great for me.
SPEAKER_03New age of advertising, right? So it's like it's a totally different beast.
SPEAKER_09It's the fifth, I believe. Uh it's the fifth branch of advertising. There's there's radio, there's print, there's billboards, there's television, and now it's there's social media. And marketing departments had to basically like a marketing department, let's say at a consumer package goods company, they literally had to create a new division of their marketing department in order to cover this through. And yes, it is from a financial standpoint. I'm not going to get too technical on it, but from a financial standpoint, it's the one of the best bangs for their buck that they spend. You know, they pay an influencer X amount of dollars to do X amount of reach. They definitely get their money back, considering the fact that if you spent $10 million on an advertising campaign that a million people see, that may only still net 2%. Whereas an influencer, and for the record, Renee, you got a lot more followers than 50,000. So, you know, you could reach a hundred thousand people with one video, and then boom, that product just flies off the shelves.
SPEAKER_08Yeah.
SPEAKER_09Now, from from a from a background perspective, uh what is involved with the deal? Is it just as straight up, hey, we want you to represent us as an influencer? Here's a contract, sign it, we're gonna pay you X amount of dollars.
SPEAKER_08Uh yeah, kind of. I mean, they reach out and they ask what our budget is, they tell us what deliverables they would like, and you know, say they want a TikTok syndicated to Instagram, meaning you're only filming one video but posting it on both channels versus having one video specifically for Instagram and then producing a whole other video for TikTok. Um, they'll say we want syndication, we would like three Instagram stories, and then they also pay you for usage and exclusivity. So say I'm working with um, I'm trying to think like a food company, and then there is a competitor that reaches out. I'm not able to work with that competitor for say like 30, 60, 90 days, and they pay me for my rate for being exclusive with them over that period. So there is a bit of back and forth as far as negotiating. Sometimes they don't have a huge budget. And if I really love the brand and I want to work with them long term, I'll consider doing it for lower than what my typical rates are. Um, and that's kind of how it works. And then yeah, it's just signing the contract and then getting started with the work.
SPEAKER_09So over CDs. Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_03So do you have control then over your rates? Like, oh yeah.
SPEAKER_08They're my rates. Like I have a media kit. Yeah. I have a media kit and I have just based on my following, my reach, you know, the amount of time it takes me to produce a video and how much editing there is. Um, I come up with rates that I feel I deserve and what I feel I should be compensated for. And if they have the budget, they'll say amazing. And if they have more budget, sometimes they'll add extras on because maybe I came in lower than they thought I was going to. And then if they say have half the budget, but I love them, then I'll say I'll still do it anyways. Or if I don't feel like it's a good fit, period, I'll just let them know and move on to the next.
SPEAKER_02So you're a boss bitch.
SPEAKER_09Actually, my uh my situation is very similar. Like if somebody asks me to do a voiceover for them, I'm like, it's gonna cost you 185 bucks an hour, and I charge a minimum of three hours. You know, for an example.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_09Because I'm worth a lot more than $185 an hour.
SPEAKER_02Oh dear. So is that wink, Scott?
SPEAKER_03Nope, don't do that.
SPEAKER_09I'm winking at Sadie.
SPEAKER_03I hate it. I hate it.
SPEAKER_09So no, and I can totally understand that. Like, I asked somebody asked me once to edit their podcast, and I was like, okay, I'll do it for a hundred bucks an hour, and they're like, Fuck you, I can't afford that. And I'm like, then you can't afford me. Bye-bye. So have you ever had a brand come to you and they just like try to lowball you and you were like, Yeah, you know what? Even though I like your brand, you're out of here.
SPEAKER_08I'm not gonna oh all the time, uh like every multiple times a week.
SPEAKER_09Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_08Oh, yeah, it happens all the time. I mean, I I think sometimes too that it's it's a you know, fast growing what what's the word I'm looking for? And just sorry, it's a quickly I why can't I talk right now?
SPEAKER_02That's fine. I can never talk.
SPEAKER_08I don't know if you've listened before, but I don't even know words. I'm tired. No, it's it's a fast growing industry. There's lots of people that want to be content creators and you know, which I encourage. But I think as it gets oversaturated, obviously there's new people that are starting out that are not on the level that I am or other people are that have been doing this for years, so they don't even know what to charge and what to come in at. So some brands will just reach out and completely lowball you and go well below your rates, knowing that there's so many people that will say yes and they'll still get decent reach. So I guess they just try. But there's also tons of brands that do respect your rates, you know.
SPEAKER_03So has there ever been a time where you felt like, you know, they came in, they lowballed you, but in the back of your head, you thought, this is going to be really good for my future. This is going to bring in X, Y, and Z. And then Zed, whatever, Scott, chill out. Uh, and so you did decide to go with them and it that did come to fruition, or what? Like, was there some like did you take a chance on anyone? You don't have to name them.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, I've I've taken deals where they didn't meet my rate or or close to it because I I genuinely like and purchase the brand. They also a lot of the time we'll send you the product. So you're also not paying for the product. And if it's high value and stuff and something that I've really wanted and been saving for, like, of course, I'm gonna work with them, you know, in exchange for that plus the payment. If it's something that I feel like is a really, really good fit. I don't, I don't feel at this point that I need to work with anyone to get like more exposure or anything like that. That's like one, you know, thing that everybody talks about in this industry is when brands try and get you to work with them in for in exchange for like quote unquote exposure. Um, we don't really need to do that. So yeah, I I don't feel like it's necessary, but I will do it if I truly love the brand. So it just depends.
SPEAKER_03It's it all situational. You know what it's it's funny because when I when we were speaking on our free cruise with Virgin Mobile, um, you know, when we were exhausted in that hotel that we rented. Okay, so true story. We had so much how much time, Renee, did we have before like our flight? So we thought we're, you know, we're in Miami and we thought, okay, what are we gonna do? So, you know, Renee is, you know, an expert at anything, everything on her phone. So she gets on her phone, she's like, hey, we're gonna go to a hotel, we're gonna rent the pool, and we're gonna go there. So, you know, in your head, I'm thinking, yeah, you know, Miami pool vibes, you know, whatever. So we go to it was freezing cold. We were the only ones there. The hot tub was broken.
SPEAKER_04We ended up sitting in the lobby for like six hours, laughing our heads off. Oh my God. Anyways, I don't even know where I was going with that, but it was just a good story. Good story, Sadie.
SPEAKER_09So it must not have been successful because it was not documented on Instagram or TikTok.
SPEAKER_08Oh, we should no, Sadie was covered in towels trying to sleep. It's ridiculous. With the birds and those boats, and I'm like, just everyone, stop it. Yeah, we were we were extremely overtired and didn't know if we needed to start laughing or crying.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it was it was that point where we'd we just we would just look at each other and just with sheer exhaustion, just start, you know, making fun of like some family member and laugh. I mean it laughing. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_09Okay, so now you've got a bunch of brands that you work with and you've got your you've got your audience. Do you ever get to a point where you're like, I'm full? I don't think I've got enough time in the because you Still have you've got five kids. Again, we were talking off-air about the fact that the LeBlanc family seems to procreate like frickin' rabbits. So you've got you've got five kids. And what sorry, what's your husband's name? I know I've met him apparently.
SPEAKER_08Corey.
SPEAKER_09So Corey and Corey has a job, or does Corey just live off you?
SPEAKER_07Corey. Corey 100% has a job.
SPEAKER_09Okay, Corey's got a job.
SPEAKER_08Corey's her like insta pimp. Because my job is kind of all over the place. We have really busy seasons and everything, but sometimes like you could not get have work for maybe two months, and then you can be absolutely slammed where you are on the edge of crying because you have so many jobs, but it's not consistent where you know he is a career. So we've, you know, we've talked before about, you know, does or would it be nice if we got to a point where he could stay home with me and us just live off of what I'm bringing in. But it's just the instability that makes us that's understandable.
SPEAKER_09It's like when Todd had to live with an actress and she worked once every you know year. Shut up. Who was that? Who is that? I I don't remember. That's not somebody I know. Stop it. Stop it.
SPEAKER_08It is stable. It's just the fact that he gets a pension and he gets benefits, and we have five kids. So it's like those things where you know, you start questioning if that would be a good idea to leave. Because at the same time, you know, as great as this is, you never know when it's going to end. Like, you know, with everything coming out with AI, you know, who's to say that this is going to be something that's still doing as well in five years, you know? I would hope so, but it's not a guarantee. So just knowing that he has something that we can fall back on, it's just not something that we're willing to give up.
SPEAKER_03So like statistically, is this still on the up, up, up, up? Or now that, yeah, or now that AI is, are we seeing it kind of flatten out a little bit?
SPEAKER_08Like no, not really. I've I mean, year over year, I always make more than I did the previous year. So I've, you know, even with the pandemic and everything, I didn't find that, you know, it slowed down for maybe a couple of months and then it picked right back up. And I I don't I haven't seen that yet, but it is something that I think about often.
SPEAKER_09Have you ever just said though, like, sorry guys, uh love your brand, but I'm I'm just too busy?
SPEAKER_08Not really. I I have five kids. I'm used to, you know, being go, go, go. And if it's if it's not a good fit, of course. I'm not, you know, going to say yes to a brand if I don't feel like my audience would like it, or if I don't like it. Um, I don't want to be promoting things that, you know, are going to deter people and push them away and have them get to a point where they're not trusting me just for the sake of taking on a job. But I also am not going to leave something on the table that I feel like is a good fit. Um, and you know, we we make good money. So it's hard to say no when you like the brand, even if you have a lot on your plate, right?
SPEAKER_09And you know what that brings up a perfect question, which is how much do you consider your audience when you're being pitched for a brand representation? Like, do you really is that a big part of it?
SPEAKER_08Yeah. Cause if I've if you take something and they can tell that, you know, you're being an authentic, sorry, inauthentic, they're not going to trust you with anything else moving forward. It takes one bad collaboration or one bad moment online to get canceled. The last thing that you want to do is start working with brands that, you know, say you have said in the past, oh, I don't like this brand. And then all of a sudden two years later, you're working with them because they're giving you a big paycheck. I mean, it just doesn't look good.
SPEAKER_03And this is exactly why I could not do this job. I would be canceled like before it even started.
SPEAKER_08I feel like if it came with an explanation, like you can always change your mind about things. Like maybe I can't think of something off the top of my head. But if you said you didn't like something two years ago and you've changed your mind and you want to try it out, I think addressing it so that people aren't caught off guard is one thing. But yeah, I definitely say no to things. I'm not we make enough money, but I don't feel like I need to take everything if it's not a good fit and it's going to ruin my reputation. I just feel like it's not, it's not worth it and it's not a good look.
SPEAKER_03So what about the haters? Is that hard?
SPEAKER_08No. I do not care. I'm a very fixed. I think being a LeBlanc, you know.
SPEAKER_00Oh, I know, girl. You know, yeah.
SPEAKER_08We're have we talked about the fact that we're cousins? Was that mentioned? Okay.
SPEAKER_09Also the fact that you guys are breeding machines.
SPEAKER_08Our whole family makes fun of each other. Like I could not care less about a miserable person online. Yeah. I could care less.
SPEAKER_09It's really funny that you mentioned that because as I've gone through over well, God, I mean, I've been following you online for quite a while, but as I did a bit of a research to go back and remind myself of some of the videos that you've filmed and and whatnot, I didn't even think to read the comments, to be honest, which I usually do, whether I'm trying to find a like-minded person or if I'm trying to find the asshole that I want to go, you're an asshole for saying that. Um, do you get a lot of negative comments? And what kind of comments are they?
SPEAKER_08Are they stupid head? I don't like, you know, I wouldn't say a lot. I actually sometimes can find them funny. I remember I was wearing a dress. I was doing some fashion stuff years ago. And I was wearing a dress and my knees were showing, and I don't know what I was doing with my knees. I'm already laughing. Imagine somebody said it looks like her knees are baby faces. And I was crying. I couldn't stop crying, laughing. It's so funny.
SPEAKER_00Can you send me a picture of your knees right now, please?
SPEAKER_08I will need to find it. Yes. It's so it was so funny because like I can actually say that, but that doesn't bother me. My family, we all make fun of each other all the time. So if you think it's moving appealing, I'm actually probably laughing with you. I don't I don't get offended very easily. So I can't wait for Christmas this year.
SPEAKER_09I don't think though that there's a lot of trolls who are trying to troll someone who's featuring a retail establishment or why why would somebody Okay well think about think about it this way.
SPEAKER_08Think about it. Well, that's the thing, right? I just think that to me, if something ever slightly bothers me, I just remind myself I have never been that upset or that miserable with my life, even on my hardest day, that I would watch what somebody else was creating content about or sharing about online and write a negative, nasty comment, even if I didn't agree with it, because why? It's you know, it's you have to be a very miserable person to have to spend the time to do that. Like go and get some fresh air, touch some grass, go to Starbucks, get a little coffee. You know what I mean? It's just not it's not a good look for them. And to me, it's like I'm happy enough that I would never do anything like that. I couldn't imagine being that miserable. So I just I feel bad for them, if anything, to be honest.
SPEAKER_03Good attitude, Renee. Right?
SPEAKER_09Right. Okay, so there is though the so there's a couple of scenarios we look at in an online world that first and foremost, there are some people ruining it for the for the good ones. Like you're a good influencer, you do a great job, but there are some that are just fucking ruining it for everybody. And then there are also you know, people that are misrepresenting themselves. So are you does it do you ever get afraid that other influencers are or kind of making it um difficult for everybody else because they're such tools?
SPEAKER_08Honestly, I don't I can't really think of anybody doing that, but I also don't I feel like I don't genuinely pay enough attention to what anybody else is doing. I mean, I do with my friends and stuff and the people that I choose to support online, but I just feel like I that could happen with any profession, right? I mean, there's people that are, you know, doctors, and there's 30% of them that are like absolutely amazing at their jobs, and then there's also, you know, a ton of them that are horrible and have terrible bedside manner. Am I gonna think that, you know, every single doctor is horrible because I have a bad experience with a couple? No.
SPEAKER_09Well, it's the the reason why I ask it is because I follow a guy on TikTok who outs bad influencers who perhaps scanned a restaurant and demanded money and then did a bad review or whatever it is.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_09And my my fear if I was an influencer should never happen. Oh, you should. Nobody wants to listen to what I have to say about stuff.
SPEAKER_04You just push it upon them anyway.
SPEAKER_09To me, it's there's there's just what I what my fear would be is that the ones who are ruining it for the good ones, unfortunately it's bleeding into the public eye, and now the public may think all influencers are just scammers or they're you know bad seeds.
SPEAKER_08But I think that's I think it's just whoever is consuming that, if that's their perception, that's their perception, you know, like there's there's still tons, thousands and thousands and thousands of people that follow their favorite people and it feels like they're hanging out with their best friend on FaceTime all day. You know, like there's always going to be people that look at things through a negative lens, and then there's always going to be people that look at it and they're really interested in it. So I think you just kind of have to like, you know, take it or leave it kind of thing. If if someone's not interested or they don't like it and someone's rubbed them the wrong way, then maybe content creators aren't for them.
SPEAKER_09Well, and it's just, it's just I I've I feel like sometimes, and we can cut this out if you don't like this statement, which is, oh, you're an influencer. Well, what do you really do for a living? Because you know, people do make a living. But a lot of people like you get that 22-year-old girl who's got 32 followers on Instagram, and oh, you gotta let me into the club. I'm an influencer, and everybody goes, No, you're not. Go and get a real job, would be what some of the trolls would say.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, I feel like again, I feel like it's trolls that say that. Like people that are happy in life and you know, are worried about their own life and everything, don't say things like that. And I just think that if that's their perception of what's happening 90% of the time with content creators and they haven't really followed a lot of people. Like, I I don't know. I when I follow people, I feel like inspired and uplifted, and I don't really notice people that are like ruining it, if that makes sense. Like, I really I admire almost everybody that I follow. I genuinely enjoy scrolling online. It gives you like connection with other people that are like-minded. I mean, we live in the country now and it's hard to connect with other moms that are my age. So it's just a way to meet other people. I don't find that I see a lot of that. Not to say that it doesn't happen. I'm sure it does. And I've I've gotten comments like that in the past, not directed at me, just about, you know, what is being an influencer in general. And I just assume it's because they don't know enough about it or they only hear like one thing and make an assumption.
SPEAKER_03Certain demographics, you know, that just don't quite understand it yet.
SPEAKER_09Guys my age in their 70s. Yeah, and 100 years old. When I was your age, I was working in the mines.
SPEAKER_03But it does give, you know, I was telling Scott, um, we met that uh lovely woman uh in the wheelchair. Yeah. And uh, I mean, it it this has provided her like so many opportunities. And then also, yeah, for the connection, right? I mean, how great would it be, you know, for someone that you loved that didn't know that they could travel the world in in a wheelchair? It's inspiring. It's it's amazing. She's she's turned a bad situation into gold. And it, you know, same with anyone, anyone say with disabilities, and there's so many, so many that people that you would never really get to know their story. And we get to now because of this, you know, uh sharing. It's kind of cool.
SPEAKER_09Do you know what I was just going I was just going through TikTok and I noticed that there's somebody this what is this? It's Renee at it's TikTok at Renee M. LeBlanc, not following Scott Shadypod on TikTok.
SPEAKER_08How do you know? Oh, first of all, I actually did try to find you guys because I saw when Sadie told me to look for the latest post. I went to look and you guys don't have a link anywhere for your TikTok, Scott. So you guys should be linking more and making sure that your TikTok's visible on your Facebook page because I actually couldn't find it.
SPEAKER_09Oh first of all, this is the one person, like one only one person works in this duo. I got a lot of shit I gotta do.
SPEAKER_03Listen, maybe you need to change. She brings the personality to us. Thanks for that.
SPEAKER_09You know what? I will I will it actually I think we're following you as our because I have my own personal TikTok and then it's called Sadien Scott Pod. Um, I'll try to find you on TikTok and follow you, then you can see and follow us back.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, well, I've honestly, if I ever don't follow anyone back, sometimes you when you get added and when you get notifications, you only see the latest 50. So if you follow and I haven't been online for an hour or two, I already don't see it by the time I check notifications and stuff. So I think people don't understand that. It's like, oh, they must have seen I followed them and they don't follow back. Half the time I genuinely don't even see because the notifications are already gone. And then that's embarrassing, you know, because I would never want somebody to think that I'm I don't even know what that I don't even know what you're saying.
SPEAKER_03What the hell are you talking about? Like I don't have Jesus Christ. I don't. I don't know any of the things. Okay. But but perhaps Renee could teach you a bunch of these things.
SPEAKER_09Well, we're gonna get into that because actually, you know, we're why don't we jump into it right now? Okay, we're going to make Sadie an influencer. Oh god.
SPEAKER_03I love that.
SPEAKER_09Renee is going to be your influencer coach.
SPEAKER_03Oh, see, that's the only way I would do it.
SPEAKER_09Yeah. Well, that, and you have to devote time to it besides going for a fucking hike instead of recording a podcast episode.
SPEAKER_03Did you see the video I made of that hike?
SPEAKER_09No, because you didn't post it anywhere but Facebook. Oh. Should have been on the TikTok.
SPEAKER_03I know. I'll do um, I'm gonna I'm gonna I'm gonna do better. I'm gonna do better.
SPEAKER_09Renee, we're gonna make Sadie, we're gonna get Sadie an influencer. Now you're gonna have to give her a bit of a hand up.
SPEAKER_08Well, I saw I told her that when we were away. I and I feel like everybody thinks that she's got the personality for it. I mean, she was acting before humping coaches. And she she has she's like got a vivacious personality. I feel like she would do great with it, but I don't know if she would actually do it or not.
SPEAKER_03I don't know. I just it feels overwhelming. Remember, that's why I kept saying that to you. It feels overwhelming. It feels overwhelming.
SPEAKER_09Well, let's let's start with let's start with a brand. I'm gonna just come up with a brand and we're gonna see what Sadie needs to do in order to rep that brand. And Renee is gonna help. He's gonna start from the beginning and then we're gonna go through it. Okay. You are going to do a video series for Jose Cuervo Tequila. Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_09And Renee is gonna coach you through how to be a Jose Cuervo influencer. So take it away, Renee.
SPEAKER_08Well, you would continue to post your humping of the couch with on the cruise ship. Yeah. Um, I think just being fun and showing your lively personality online and showing that you enjoy summer cocktails on patios and at the beach and your DIY cocktails for summer at home and giving people the recipe, making fun video content, showing you enjoying the drinks, being your hilarious self after so that people can relate and enjoy your sense of humor. And then you make sure that you tag the brands constantly when you're posting your videos, and hopefully you start getting recognized. See, it's that. Like, why can't I think of that?
SPEAKER_09And in your captions, you could write restigarse con la ropa puesta on El Sofa, which translates from Spanish to humping a couch. Did you just I just looked it up? Oh, so weird. Okay, so valuable information, Renee. You've already shown her how to make reels. Does she need a tripod with one of those ring lights? Does she need uh does she need a production company to come in and film her running around her house drinking Jose Cuerva while she uses a Swiffer wet jet?
SPEAKER_07Like no, you just need an iPhone, that's it.
SPEAKER_09I know. Sadie. So easy.
SPEAKER_03I I I just want I don't I duh. It's like I need a director.
SPEAKER_09Well, you are a world-famous former Canadian actress. Absolutely. I am not Renee could be your director. Renee, would you direct?
SPEAKER_07I was trying to direct her on the group. And we see how that went. Yeah, she doesn't listen. But she's there to have a good time.
SPEAKER_08Not for a long time.
SPEAKER_09Oh, look, a bird.
SPEAKER_08It runs the fan. See, that's a superpower because I also have ADHD in it. I feel like that's actually helped me with this.
SPEAKER_09So Sadie, we could make your ADHD be high make you hyper focus on this.
SPEAKER_03Once I dot decide to be focused on something, it is pretty hyper. Laser focused. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_09Laser.
SPEAKER_03Laser like sharks with laser beams on their backs.
SPEAKER_09All right. So we've got Sadie repping Jose Cuervo. She she tags them. Is there any other way that she could should she send a like a pitch deck to whoever owns Jose Cuervo? I really don't know. It's probably or somebody.
SPEAKER_08When you start doing um content creating, once you, I mean, you need to prove yourself. So growing your following, making sure that you're getting engagement on your reels and you're getting views on your videos. And once you hit like a couple thousand followers, you make yourself a media kit. You can go on Etsy, search aesthetic media kit, and you just pop in all of your information. It's super easy. And then you look up PR agencies in your area. You look up which ones handle food, family, whatever it is that you're looking for, and then start sending out your media kit to all of these different agencies. And if there's anything that they feel that you're a good fit for, they'll reach out and get back to you. You can also DM the brand and say, hey, I've been posting videos about you or about your company. I'd love to work with you. If there's any opportunities, do you have somebody that I can reach out to to send my media kit directly to? That's another great way to touch base with brands. You can go on their websites. There's usually at the bottom of the website in the what do you call the bottom of the website? Five kids. I'm I'm having a brain fart. What do you call the bottom of the website, Scott?
SPEAKER_09Is Renee, are you pre-menopausal? Are you paramenopausal yet?
SPEAKER_08Yes. Yes.
SPEAKER_09The bottom of the website is called the bottom of the website. Okay.
SPEAKER_08No, no, there's no there's a there, it's actually called something, but they have um like their contact information and everything in there. Facts, facts. Yes, the footer, thank you. So in the footer of um a brand's website, there's usually a spot there where you can um get an email for content creators to reach out to the brand for inquiries. So that's another way to connect with them.
SPEAKER_09You you could influence other brands at the same time. Like you don't just need to do alcohol, even though you know you'd be great at that.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I think alcohol and like you know, Windex or does any sort of thing?
SPEAKER_09Massing gills.
SPEAKER_03Just get mass and gills.
SPEAKER_09Yeah.
SPEAKER_03No, Scott. Why not? I don't know. I those two do not marry each other. Booze and Mass and Gills. No, okay. No, no, moving on. You'd be horrible at this.
SPEAKER_09I would be. Like honestly, I didn't we're not making Scott an influencer.
SPEAKER_04No, we're not.
SPEAKER_09No. No, I could be the voice of an influential campaign.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_09Jose Cuervo. Here we go. And Mass and Gills. Disposable douche. Two things that go together. Oh my god. No? No. Did I just come up with a million dollar idea?
SPEAKER_03You are not buying it.
SPEAKER_09No. All right. So so this is what we need, but we're going to keep everyone updated. Renee, you continue to coach Sadie. And anytime she says, Oh, I can't today, I gotta go on a hike, or oh, my kids come home from school, you just tell her, no, they who gives a shit? We're gonna make money.
SPEAKER_03Money, money, money.
SPEAKER_09Dollar, dollar bills, y'all. And I'm never saying that ever again.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, because I said that I said that in our last episode, and you cringed out.
SPEAKER_09So you're not allowed to like Well, you wanted me to you were gonna give me a grill. Stop for our five.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, stop humping my good ideas, okay? They're my ideas. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_09All right. So actually, by the way, Renee, would you ever rep uh like if if a liquor company came to you, would you ever do that? Is that something that falls within your I have before, yeah. Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_06Usually wine.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, baby.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_09Yeah. Well, that could be you could do like a um like a voiceover video, right? Where you just walk around drinking wine and I'll narrate it for you.
SPEAKER_03Okay, good. David Adenborough. That actually would be really funny. That would be that would be that could be that that could be our thing. Absolutely. I can be just doing stuff in, you know, my I could be commentating your life, like David Attenborough.
SPEAKER_08Yeah. The wild Renee, would that work? Is that a thing? I mean, it sounds kind of funny. And then Sadie doesn't need to do anything. She just sends you the video, and then the editing of the voiceover is taken off her plate.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Oh, and see, the it's the voiceover part that makes me really anxious, which is weird that I'm sitting here doing a podcast. But that that part of it does make me a little anxious.
SPEAKER_08It's the but you just talk, you just have to think about how you would talk to one of your friends on FaceTime. Okay.
SPEAKER_03Well, Scott would have to think about that. I would. just have to think about putting down voiceover artists.
SPEAKER_09I think I'll be able to handle it.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, no, you'd be able to handle it. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I think this is a good team.
SPEAKER_09The wild Sadie walking is being refreshed by Jose Cuevo Techila.
SPEAKER_03And this is where I like fall off a cliff.
SPEAKER_09No, I'm just like casually slicing it. So just spin in again. See?
SPEAKER_03This can kind of be a thing, I think. All right, we're going to keep everybody up to date on that.
SPEAKER_09And now it is time to play a game. And Renee, we really appreciate your time, but we value it. So we're going to play a game. It's called Link It or Leave It. I'm not going to give you a brand name. I'm going to give you a product. Okay. And you have to tell me if you're going to link it to your socials or you're going to go leave it. Okay. Pretty straightforward stuff. The first one bugs the shit out of me. So I will tell you immediately that I would leave it.
SPEAKER_03Well everything bugs the shit out of you to be clear. Yeah. Very true.
SPEAKER_09This one, honestly, launched across the kitchen. Okay. Okay. Clear fridge bins. Link it or leave it.
SPEAKER_08Link it, I have them. I'm obsessed. Yeah, I was just launch it.
SPEAKER_09Mine wouldn't be leave it. It would be launch it. I hate those things.
SPEAKER_08I already knew that no, you have way more room and none nothing goes bad.
SPEAKER_09No, you have to convince me like an influencer, Renee.
SPEAKER_08No, Renee, there's no connection. No, literally my whole fridge is organized with these. I'm not even joking. I have ADHD. I always forget to check the back of the fridge for everything and it always goes bad. I stuff that I actually want to eat when I have those clear bins, I or I first of all I can add way more fruit and vegetable for my kids. I wash everything. I put the produce away in them and then also for their snacks because they can pull out the drawer you're not leaving anything in the back of the fridge for it to go bad. Everything gets noticed. Do you have some we actually do have way more of our food? Do you have them linked in your um Instagram or your TikTok? My my Amazon store I believe. I believe so I'm not I can't remember if I did or not.
SPEAKER_03I feel like that's something that I've I've been tinkering with in my head. I'm like God do I do that every time I see that post that you do or those posts I'm like I would like my fridge to look like that. No, I would never have it any other way.
SPEAKER_08It's not it's not about like getting schlepping stuff to get people to buy like honestly for how much you get for commissionable links, it's really like not I mean that's not my bread and butter. I I you know still do it obviously because I think it's great to have multiple streams of income coming in as far as having brand deals and then linking to commissionable links. But I just share those things because I genuinely like them.
SPEAKER_09So all right. Fantastic you both are crazy and I'm right. Number two link it or leave it label makers.
SPEAKER_03Boop link link leave it.
SPEAKER_09Really? Yeah. You know why? Because I would label make everything.
SPEAKER_04Like Joe's Joe's boobies. Hat boob. Yep.
SPEAKER_09This is the television. Yeah I'd be I'd be out of I'd be out of paper or stairs or whatever.
SPEAKER_08You know I think it's good because we have kids. So linking or sorry linking sorry putting the uh labels on all the drawers it's like this is the bread drawer. This is snacks.
SPEAKER_03This is I do it I have like clear things where I put my like snacks. Now you know what I use which is really funny and I should just use my label maker but it's you know upstairs and I got to connect it to my phone and I hate doing shit like that is I use I found a great hack for painter's tape. Okay. Do you know if you put painter's tape like say on a water kid's water bottle at school you could write on it, put it in the dishwasher that shit does not come off ever. It is a permanent label. Anyway, try it. If and only if you put it in the dishwasher no you can wash it like not you can't label their clothes with it but I can label bins. I just neatly cut it and then I you know I just put like granola bars or ritz crackers or whichever. This could have been a video Sadie. Yeah I know right I know I tell I tell everyone I'm like you need to like don't tell me you don't have ideas.
SPEAKER_09Yeah see anyway you should try it and it's cheap. Okay so here's the thing I'm going to let both of you know Renee your oldest is 13 I believe 16. 16 it will come a point in time and 16 is usually already there Sadie this is a warning for you you could label every drawer in the house this is where the pots go this is where the plates go.
SPEAKER_08They will never get put away in those drawers yeah no I feel no I I genuinely do it's honestly more for Corey than it's for the kids.
SPEAKER_09Ah there we go okay well see Corey I like him already even though I've already met him a family command center like a digital family command center.
SPEAKER_08Link it or leave it link I literally could not do life without it I use it all of the time I'm not sure I'm kidding. Oh my gosh I will not do any you want to know why I don't need to tell everybody what the schedule is anymore. It syncs to Corey's phone it sinks to my phone it syncs to the kids' phone. We have a hub in the kitchen. So if anybody isn't sure what we're doing all week they can just go over and look. And then it also has a chores tab and my kids love I mean some of them have ADHD so it's helpful but they love tapping when they're done a chore to get stars. So it just has so many different things that we utilize and I could not go back because the I'd be open to it. I just don't know where I'd put it I just don't know where to put it I mean they can sit on your counter you don't have to hang it on the wall there's smaller ones you don't need to have a big one.
SPEAKER_09I just prefer the big one they have fridges that they're integrated into the fridge. Yeah to do fish and stuff like that. All right so we're we're we're we're linking that for sure.
SPEAKER_08You could even see recipes on them.
SPEAKER_03Like you can look up recipes and have the recipe open while you're cooking you know it's funny I do use my Google home um like the I we have the screen in my kitchen and I quite often refer like ask her questions on you know show me a paln recipe you know or stuff like that. I know Scott's rolling his eyes uh but I do use her so maybe I could replace it with uh more of a hub yeah yeah that is a hub if you've got a screen it's it's really really old it's really old we're going like eight nine years yeah we we have five kids in sports so it's like nobody knows what's going on.
SPEAKER_08It is so chaotic all the time. So it's just a really easy way for everyone to be on the same page without me needing to repeat myself 50 times over in the same day about like who has what and where we're going to be okay good.
SPEAKER_03Because we all know the bloncs love to repeat themselves. No we all know that we have so much patience no not one of us do.
SPEAKER_08Maybe Trevor does yeah he's a pretty patient guy we have Trevor on the podcast oh gosh he's so awesome all right let's move on to the next one a Stanley cup snack tray attachment what link it or leave it leave it honestly yeah leave it I'm the same yeah it's a bit much yeah all right good and I I watch those videos because I find ASMR videos relaxing but I would not be spending $20 to have a snack cup when I have a bowl in a drawer. Yeah no I'm the overconsumption like with certain things I get how they can be useful. Like honestly I will stand by my fridge drawers till the day I die but as far as having you know a bowl that can fit over your cup and having 50 of the same cups like I just no that's enough for me.
SPEAKER_09I'm the same all right this was along the same lines a fruit storage container that promises berries will last forever.
SPEAKER_06Well they clearly leave it I mean I don't think that they can last forever Scott I didn't say that these were all nonfiction items.
SPEAKER_08Duh would you link it or would you leave if it was true I would link it and leave it if it was lying yeah yeah you'd have to find out so then you'd have to link it. Oh well I don't think anything can can keep it forever so I feel like I wouldn't trust it.
SPEAKER_09Yes stupid Scott come out with something else man I'm not I told you I'm a prolific writer I'm not the best writer. I can always come out with gems but this one I really like and I want one okay because then I can put them in my pocket.
SPEAKER_03Oh god I don't even want to know I was gonna say something really dirty but I won't because my little cousin is on all day long.
SPEAKER_09A tiny waffle maker break it or leave it leave it. We all know the standard size of a waffle maker but I want a miniature one.
SPEAKER_03Leave it like what size?
SPEAKER_09Like the size of uh like it fits in his pocket yeah where I can put the waffles in my pocket and take them to go.
SPEAKER_03No but Scott where's the like the waffle mix where where's that?
SPEAKER_09In a bag in my other pocket. So okay listen I'm not getting into the intricacies of it I'm just saying I think you need to would you link it or would you leave a tiny I mean I have multiple waffle makers so I'm probably not the person to ask here I would link it.
SPEAKER_08Good okay I totally agree thank you but but not if it was you know like a mouse tiny I'm talking like a personal pan sized pancake or a waffle.
SPEAKER_09Okay. Actually if you cook pancakes in a stainless steel pot like a saucepan are we talking about stainless steel pots again?
SPEAKER_08Yes it's what Big Teflon doesn't want you to know holy shit Scott if you take a uh like a saucepan and you pour your batter into it yeah in stainless steel then you flip it into a griddle or you flip it onto a frying pan you will get identically I the identical size pancakes every single time you know what I just heard there what more dishes but it's stainless steel so it's really easy to clean you know what I did yesterday actually I made pancakes in a big flat sheet pan okay so you don't have to make multiple pancakes it's one flat sheet it cooks the whole entire box and then you just cut them up in squares.
SPEAKER_09Square pancakes yes God you're so unruly Renee okay here's one that I I I mentioned this to Joe. Uh here's one I want to see how you guys react.
SPEAKER_08Yeah a skincare mini fridge my daughter has one so again Lincoln does she really yeah she does but you know why I bought it though I didn't buy it for it to be a skincare mini fridge. That's what it has turned into I bought it for when she has friends to sleep over and I get them little snacks that you don't want all the boys eating ahead of time. Yep. So it's in her room and and I have well Austin has one too as well sorry if he gets like you know a can of pop or something like that that he doesn't want to share. So it stays cold in their room and then no one else can steal it. So but I never knew that there was like skincare products that really should be refrigerated which is what Joe said she's like it's not that they it's not that they should be I don't think but it's that they work better or they can like depuff your face if they're cold.
SPEAKER_09So we talked about depuffing too did we Scott we talked we talked about this. No Joanna and I talked about depuffing where she has like an on not an onyx it's made out of jade or something like that.
SPEAKER_08Or like and one that was frozen like you would use it you put it in the fridge and then I love that you're like trying to tell me something that I already listen you didn't even know what a pearl necklace was okay we're moving on moving on okay all right before we let you go Renee and thank you so much um for your patience with well with me what do you mean she loves me I know that's why I said patience with me okay what is the one thing you would suggest to someone Sadie in parentheses who wants to try to make a living as an influencer you only have like you've got your elevator pitch right so how do you pitch 30 seconds start that's it just start actually do it follow through don't overthink it just start showing up and if you show up regularly and you show up you know at least five times a week and you're being yourself and you're being authentic it'll happen you just have to put the time in that's honestly all it is if everybody has their own unique story and you just have to get online and start sharing it. That's it.
SPEAKER_02Great advice Sadie Yes it is great advice you should heed it.
SPEAKER_09I know Renee where can everybody find you I know that like you know it's probably pretty obvious since our con with our conversation but what are your handles and where can people find you?
SPEAKER_08Uh my handle is the same across all of my socials. It's just at Renee M LeBlanc and that's it.
SPEAKER_09And you also have a website I believe I don't use it.
SPEAKER_08It doesn't matter it's from it's from blogging and my business email is attached to it so I can't get rid of it but I feel like people I mean not that they're not ever on blogs anymore but I feel like social is more lucrative so that's where I put my time yeah it's honestly it's it's a kind of a dying art and you don't necessarily need like people don't say hey can I get your web address it's it's can I get your IG or something.
SPEAKER_07Yeah.
SPEAKER_09All right well Sadie did you have any final questions for your cousin who gave you a free cruise I think we've covered everything on the cruise.
SPEAKER_08Yeah are you gonna come for Sadie's Septigenarian anniversary it's not septigenarian fucking shit pentagenarian birthday she wants to go on a cruise again oh I would I would love to I don't know like I the fact that she is up for that already is crazy right like can you believe I'm gonna be 50? I know I can't I'm gonna be 40 wait are you turning 50 this year yes I'm turning 40 this year. Isn't that crazy?
SPEAKER_03Yeah that's a big birthday year they are big birthday years. Can you believe I'm 50 and I still do that shit can you believe I'm 73 and I still do that shit. I the fact that I can't keep up with you in your 50 is crazy. You have a lot to look forward to Renee honestly well Renee thanks so much for joining us on the show.
SPEAKER_09I really appreciate you coming on and putting up with me for having me and we were definitely going to push and I will make sure that our Instagram handle is somewhere in our show notes so that you can follow us on um the TikTok. Yeah we don't really have a lot of things on Instagram to be honest with you I might post something but I don't have that app where it just automatically uploads to you need you're you're talking to a person that knows all the things Scott maybe off the air Renee you can get me in line with that to make my job a little bit easier considering I do all the work. Yes Drew he really does that's how I like my men Scott Good Lord all right the Renee LeBlanc LeBlanc I do it on purpose and but now I do it on accident. I did I Renee the White Usually I do it on by purpose in front of you now I shouldn't be doing it on now we're we're a bunch of bloody professionals here Scott get it together well thanks so much for having me guys. We appreciate it and we'll we will hopefully you know what let's let's next time you're on the show let's just talk about Sadie instead just make fun of our parents yeah yeah we'll talk about all the th all the times that you guys were wandering around your backyard aimlessly because your parents were all eashed up in the in the living room oh my gosh I feel like I have enough to do a whole podcast of just Sadie on the boat. That's so true you probably do damn it okay so now promise you you have to promise we're gonna make this a regular every six months Renee's gonna come on and we're just gonna talk about shit. All right she'll participate in the same script that I write for you all the time.
SPEAKER_03Yeah and she gets to jump in and we listen Renee and I don't have any problems talking at all.
SPEAKER_09Excellent okay Renee we'll let you go and thanks again appreciate it. Thank you Renee don't hang up Renee we'll don't hang up so we can tell you where so you can tell us where to send your prizes oh he's just lying prizes gosh she gets enough prizes she just sent us some prizes. Katie how many times I told you not to ruin the illusion okay all right we'll be right back sorry she's just calling me and I didn't know if it was something important so that was that was um that was a very that was a big learning experience I think learned something Scott?
SPEAKER_03No I'm talking about you oh wait a minute are you presuming that I learned something?
SPEAKER_09Well I would hope so because now you've you've got a you've got a coach yeah and you've got like I got a success she's an extremely successful influence you know what it's pretty it's pretty fantastic.
SPEAKER_03I've kind of I've watched it from the questions I know I know we could almost get her on here again because I you we should write write them out but I've watched her grow her audience to where she is now you know approaching 40 years old I'm really proud of her it's it's it's pretty amazing and it's just something I never knew much about and I don't think a lot of people know much about and now we know much about it.
SPEAKER_09Well it's also you we want to kind of we want and I mentioned it but we want to dispel the negativity from the trolls to say that it's not a real job. Well it is because have you seen her kitchen?
SPEAKER_03It is a very it is a real job. I've witnessed her doing her job and she's very good at it.
SPEAKER_09I don't know if I said that but I think I did she's very good at it she her production quality is is like second to none. Right and I you know her audio too like you could tell she's she knows what she's doing. Yeah she does yeah so you can learn a lot so you're I so now I have to challenge you. You need to get on the TikTok or we can I will follow you. Are you gonna do one of our videos or I will I will record you oh do you want to do it that way I can actually think that's kind of well then we could just do that you know what you get your TikTok open okay and we will record something for the podcast but you can post it on your thing.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_09And we'll pick a product and we'll I'll do the voiceover for it. Okay. Narrating what this is safe.
SPEAKER_03And this might we can incorporate a little we can incorporate this in the podcast and see where it goes.
SPEAKER_09Yes.
SPEAKER_03Yeah these could be our videos.
SPEAKER_09I mean ultimately we want to then move it to you making a living and not having to well no it would be us making a living I already have a job.
SPEAKER_03Well I already have a job too so us making I know do you want to do your job forever?
SPEAKER_09Because I well actually no I don't want to do my job forever so do your job forever? No not really but I like it but I never want to do it forever. This is our retirement fund. This is our package there you go yeah we're onto something yes and it and Todd like we can all retire in the same retirement village. I mean Todd already has a wardrobe for it so like we're ready to go 100% does love those shirts I love those shirts. All right so that's what we're gonna do we're gonna do some videos on and I'll edit them in some of my cool Apple software that I will show you how to do it that you won't remember after about five minutes.
SPEAKER_03Let's brainstorm some stuff like we'll go you know we'll brainstorm like shoot me a text I'll shoot you a text we'll brainstorm and then maybe next time I come here maybe the time after we'll carve out 20 minutes of you know what we're going to do or you know what I'm going to be doing and then what you're going to be saying and put it together and just see what happens.
SPEAKER_09Yeah I'll just you know like dress up. Yeah wear wear a nice you wear a white dress. Remember you said earlier today you wanted to buy a white dress.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_09Buy a white dress. And then roll in the mud no well if we're doing it for laundry detergent laundry Scott I can create a mud puddle in my backyard. And I could just And you just roll you can just accidentally you can have a a drink in your hand yeah and just accidentally fall into it.
SPEAKER_03Yeah just enjoying the sun and just enjoying the sun the weather look at it's finally out it's finally tea kettle right into a pile of mud and that's okay.
SPEAKER_09Sadie's gonna fix it with Tide Pods.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_09Tide pods gets anything out including mud and alcohol I think it's I think we have something going on.
SPEAKER_03We got an idea I'm gonna I'm gonna write it down I think our listeners should pipe in here. Yeah maybe they can give us some ideas. Sure we can let them kind of direct the episode yeah what like stupid shit do you want to see me doing and right and I'll do them with a product.
SPEAKER_09You know what we could do we could test like helmets or something and you can fall down the hill in my backyard.
SPEAKER_03Okay. All right do you think I'm in any shape to do that? Unless we get like a if like a sex doll and dress her up like me and like you you can watch me climbing up the hill then we'll dress her up and then throw her down the hill.
